(For those of the non-Polish persuasion, Wigilia is Christmas Eve Supper)
I just found out —– my Aunt / Godmother and my cousing Binki (“Dr. Frank Pasquale III”) are coming for Christmas! But this entry is private because we’re keeping it a surprise for my daughter. I can’t wait to see her face.
I’m actuall crying. This will be the first time we’ve ever had Wigilia together as far as I can remember. I love Merry’s family as my own, but I haven’t celebrated a real Wigilia with my own family since my my Mom died. Except for the Taco Wigilia we had with Kathy one year – I don’t remember if we shared the Oplatki (Christmas wafers, breaking bread) that time. And the Spaghetti Warehouse the year my Mom died, but again, I don’t think we did Oplatki.
That phone call made my day, hands down.
