Christina wasn’t able to stay long and help decorate the tree. She had a wake for a fellow high school student who died in a car crash. I was too stuffed from dinner (and a whole glass of wine) to really be non-lathargic enough to do mroe than a couple boxes of ornaments myself. But we took a trip to Country Peddler and got cider, marshmallows, taffy, fortune cookies, and some discounted pastry to share. It was a nice evening, but a bit too hectic. It seemed a little out of sorts.

But the tree is beautiful. We replaced the worn out lights (Merry got them from her mom about 10 years ago) with pinecone shaped ones we bought at Big Lots about a week ago. The remaining ligts that work from the old set we’re using to decorate the window. The Christmas season has begun.
