Mangled Magazine Messages

My daughter and I were mentioned in the March 2007 issue of Better Homes & Gardens. Except they got everything all wrong.

They took information from the Dads & Daughter’s discussion group and contacted me. I let them use my name and quote me, even proofread the mention. Except they didn’t quote me. In fact, what I proofread was hardly the same as what was published. I corrected the spelling of my daughter’s name, and they fixed it — in ONE of three mentions, leaving the other two mispelled. And they didn’t even correct her age at the time of the situation quoted.

It’s almost as bad as our church bulletin. That thing has more errors than the King James Bible. Maybe I should hire myself out as a proofreader. there would be one helluva market if people would admit the need.
