We wondered for years why thre was no sound barrier for our neighborhood from the thruway noise. I even wrote to the appropriate people about putting up a “No Jake Breaks” sign, to no avail or even a response.
Now that we decided we want to own our own house as soon as possible (yet a ways off), we receive a letter from the Thruway Authority announcing the construction of sounde barriers. I went to the link in the letter, downloaded the study, and found that of all the proposed areas, we were number FOUR across all of New York State in terms of need (noise impact).
