🙂 Video games are like any other mental exercise. Some people exercise more than others because they like to. The subconscious does not tell the difference between what you call real life and a game. It is an experience like real life, except people can choose differently knowing it is not the physical world, and explore how they feel without hurting anyone. Healthy people can do things they would not in real life and have the experience without the change in behavior or thinking. It usually does not make them different. How they play is because of how they are more than vice versa.Children have fragile feelings and react different each. They should not play things they cannot deal with, but parents and adults who care must help them with them if they play. I think people here know this. They have warnings on games not for children. Why do adults let them play? It is OK for adults, and if it is not, people would not play them if they make the right choice.People like me do mental exercise too, but do not need games looking like real life. We can imagine other choices and outcomes very well while we are doing things. These imaginings are part of our experience, and help us grow in a controlled way without hurting anyone. We can also use this to understand other peoples and why they do things sometimes.Humans do this mostly by games and books, but also daydreams. That is close to what I do, but I do it when I want to at certain times, and it is fast. I can walk down the street and go through talking to a person there in many ways before I speak to them in real life. 🙂

Here's an existing Q & A from the old site …06 Jan 2003 (1) A person of mixed white and black ancestry(2) How do scientists know about the structure of the Earth's interior? Explain.AndrewHuber Heights, OhioMy [Guenneth's] Answer: (1) I don't know what you mean by the first statement. People are not black or white. They just look that way, and it has less to do with heredity than most people think.(2) If I remember right, Human scientists know about the planet interior right now mostly by studying diffraction of seismic waves. They started really thinking about all this after Wagner's theory of plate tectonics was taken seriously about four human generations ago. You can find out more by asking a Human scientist or reading a book or website. That theory is right, and most of what humans know about the interior of the planet is right. Other people (like me) know about the interior of planets by other ways, such as what you could call layered and/or convergent spectrometry. That is done best by understanding matter in ways humans do not yet.Paul
