I rock at the 80s?
I was over at Kris & Steve's and we played Cranium, which was kinda cool (boys against girls, my team lost after making a big comeback from a slow start), and then we played DVD Name That Tune for the 80s. I can't beleive I actually won, and Merry was at the starting line half the game. REALLY weird because I spent the 80s listening to classical and new age music. Game = Luck > Knowledge But I'll still take...
What’s wrong with me?
I keep impulsively changing my mind. I decided NOT to teach Tai Chi and pass my students to another school. I think it's for the best, but it's a hard decision to make. It also takes away any ethical filemma about "stealing" (my) students from the place I teach. Now I have to break it to them that I'm not holding classes down the road anytime soon ...
Tai Chi – a door closes, a door opens / Beginning of Year Stuff
I held my last Tai Chi class at Horison Martial Arts in West Seneca today. The good news? I have to option to have classes at a holistic center nearby on my own terms -- class times, student fees, lots of flexibility. I can even stash my stuff there, such as T-shirts, videos, etc. and I will get a lot more cross-pollination from their existing programs. The best news? My existing students are 100% behind me. Other...
Last night … Harry Potter and the neverending squat
The movie was good, though you always miss what they have to leave out from the book so it's not 89 hours long. But I surely had too much butter on too much popcorn. Or so my stomach told me in the wee hours of the morning. I didn't yak, though I was concerned I might. But this morning the full effects of theatre butter's lubrative power showed themselves. You may call it the runs, but it was more like a cross...
Chorale Christmas Show
Chrissie performed at the school's Christmas chorale presentation -- it was really nice. The music selection was wonderfully eclectic with a hint of different cultural styles, but almost all in English. And it was the first time I heard a handbell choir. There's no way to put it delicately. Handbells kick ass.
I sleep with a doll – do you have a problem with that?
It was first or second grade, or maybe kindergarten. We had some sort of presentation in a classroom about what life was like 100 years ago or something, with various antique props. I heard a presenter talking about the baby carriage in front of them being able to fold down into being small. This was before I ever saw a modern stroller, and I wanted to see how it worked mechanically. I was very much the engineer at...

Dance Chaperones
Last night, Chrissy and I were chaperones for a grade school dance together. I probably shouldn't have worn all black with my Neo longcoat. Kids inquired if I was a priest, a spy, a molester, or possibly some combination thereof ... Today I started prepping an apartment for painting. I'm taking photos of this one. I never thought of blood red as a ceiling color.
O yeah … Neo.
You scored as Neo, the "One". Neo is the computer hacker-turned-Messiah of the Matrix. He leads a small group of human rebels against the technology that controls them. Neo doubts his ability to lead but doesn't want to disappoint his friends. His goal is for a world where all men know the Truth and are free from the bonds of the Matrix.
