Baseball Hits Home

Yesterday, Mer and I went to the park after getting a baseball bat and some "foam" baseballs at Wal-Mart. I showed her what little I knew about how to swing, throw and catch, and she did a lot better than I expected. I knew I would be lousy at it, but it was fun, and she loved every moment of it. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. We did it again todat, amongst teenagers with firecrackers, etc. and...

Sad Times

I heard a review of the fireworks at Disney World's Magic Kingdom. They said the fireworks were not choreographed at all and that the music was entirely non-holiday-related. No Sousa? Are they forgetting that in Liberty Square -- a stone's throw from Cindarella's Castle -- is the ACTUAL LIBERTY TREE from New England (the largest botanical transplant in history) with 13 lanterns hanging from it? What have they done...

Tension …

I've been generally high strung the last many months or so. Is it a mid-life thing? A last anthropological tendency to want to propagate before potential mates my age lose their fertility? It doesn't get in the way of any relationships I have with women, but in my own mind it is a stress that influences my creative side as well as a distraction in my much of my wakened thoughts, both in abstract and -- if I allow...

June 11th, Holland Speedway

Bufo (Mer's Ford Festiva) was in the races and demolition derby as planned. Wasn't in too bad shape afterward, but was really shelled out and painted up for the races. Saw glimpses of him on a DVD.

Alb3rt / India / The Farm / My Dad

Alb3rt (alb3rt_s) seemed really concerned today when I used the little sponge he carries around with him to wash my face. He's a very strange Koala in some ways ... I wonder where he gets it from. Other than that, I finally subcontracted out some work to India for the WNYPolonia.com business directory. U can't wait to see how this owrks out. Well I better get some sleep, as I'm going to the farm tomorrow to "mow...

A Chapter Finally Over

8th Grade graduation was this evening. It was an almost 2-hout-long "hour" service, but was nice. I am so glad she's done with that school. A decent school, but not for the money, and the behavioural standards are a bit under those of other schools I know. As usual when other relatives are around, Eileen refused to acknowledge me and gave less-than-pleasant glances to my wife. She even went out of her way not to...

Father’s Day

It was a good Father's Day - talked with my Dad on the phone - he didn't get the package yet, but doesn't read Alb3rt's (Alb3rt_s) journal, so it's okay ... Chrissy went to three get-togethers, the middle one being with me and Mer going to her parent's house. I even got a Father's Day call from Michelle, which made my day if it hadn't been made already. I'm thinking of more periodically updating the journal with...

Ouchies

I picked greens in the rain for several hours Thursday, and with soggy skin got nasty cuts on my thumb from the knife. Healed just about, but now I was cutting with a saw and sanding what apparently was fiberglass. Now my hands itch in a nasty kinda way ...
