North Korea – Options

So ... people are at least talking UN Chapter 7, but why not just "pressure" North Korea with economic sanctions and strongly worded resolutions? That worked before, didn't it? It worked in Iraq, right? Reality check, please. Let's assume we don't take military action to depose the mad man. Let's assume North Korea never launches a strike anytime in the future. Let's even assume he doesn't sell a weapon to...

Our Song

For those of you who don't know, this is "our song" ... the only song we danced to at our wedding reception ... Squirrel Nut Zippers - HellMusic Video Codes By Music Video Code

Well now …

An absense of hurricanes, lower gas prices, and now the stock market is nearing an all-time high. Must be that global warming, corporate gouging, and the trade deficit are on vacation. Either that, or everyone complaining about the problems of the world don't know a damn thing about what's really going on, or are just deceiving the public for their own agenda. Hehehehe ... So who's going to start the daily chant of...

My little girl is growing up …

Chrissy had her bangs combed back and didn't wear any makeup today, and she was so pretty -- she looked like an old fashioned girl, or rather a yong lady. And then I gave her my credit card to grab something while I was in another store, and she nervously signed, apologized for the "K" followed by a scribble that is my signature, and the cashier didn't think twice. Then we were waited on at another store at the...

I took my first bath in many years today.

Before you say "Eeewwwww" I must note that I DID take showers regularly in all that time in between. On another note, I taught some self-defense and Tai Chi at the girl scout encampment at Seven Hills today and it was wonderful as usual. I also watched "Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion" with a ton of additional footage. Listening to a speech by the Dalai Lama confirms that he's my best buddy -- it's like I'm his twin...

Long day …

SOmetimes I find myself dressing for an evening appointment first thing in the morning, knowing I will be out doing one thing after another all day long, leaving in the morning and coming back at night. Is this what working at home is supposed to be about?

Dalai Lama

I went to the Interfaith service at UB today and got to see His Holiness. Amazingly humble and simple in his message. A true preacher of the Gospel ("Dharma" in Buddism). There were passages read about world peace and unity from various texts (mostly scriptural from various faiths). There was contemplative dance and even a Gospel (Baptist) choir. It wasn't just new age hippies like I thought it would be. EVery kind...

Farewell to Plumbing

Yesterday, I took what will be the last shower in natural lighting for some time. This year marks a record number of days the weather was ideal for having the bathroom window open while taking a shower. In other words, more than twice. Either that, or I've become more tolerant of variations in temprature. But now deconstruction is being sledge-hammered out as I write this. Th remodel means removing the window in...
