Good day …
I saw a client, went to an anniversary party for an organization I do the website for, and then spent some time downtown with Chrissy, mostly at the Main Place Mall. We both love downtown. And it gave us time to talk.
Global Warming …
I just reviewed the Vostok core sample data the other day. I'm tired of this controversy, so decided to figure it out for myself. And it took a while to find rational explanations and justified conclusions based on the actual data. The Antarctic data is geographically different from more recent data, different methods are used, and there are numerous other concerns I have about its relevancy. But I will put this...
Just had a thought while weed whacking.
The next time someone asks you if we came from God or apes, ask them if ice cream comes from cows or man. I once went to a service where the preacher talked about truth and the Bible as always being in black or white. He said the Bible describes good as light and evil as darkness. Everything in life is one thing or another, just like where Man came from. Good and evil may be opposites -- "night and day" -- but I...
Man of La Mancha
And his horse, namely, uh ... my daughter. The musical was amazing. I didn't get any pictures because Chrsssissy had my camera, but take my word she made a fine horse. I now have the urget o follow her through the house clapping coconuts. The lead players were amazing, and I was greatly touched by the story and acting. One scene had the most amazing performance I think I have ever seen live, inclusing Phantom....
Biblical Hermeneutics & Exegesis
I just can't stop studying this stuff. I've been considering so many questions, from tongues, to the vast differences between Paul's teaching and that of Christ (as indicated from directly studying scripture). But equally important, I'm learning theology in all its syntax and taxonomy, history and theories. Praise God for Wikipedia. And I mean that literally.
Much to Ponder … and Live
Went to Susan's Mom's funeral today. Thought about a lot of things, but my mind is in a strange state ... almost like I'm asleep trying to wake up. Which is where I am at. I realized that .. well ... bear with me ... I had done the whole satori thing when I was 15 or so and received the gifts of the Spirit, but it was shallow. Real, but in a way too early in my life. I was not gold tested in fire, or hardly tested...
Jobs, Antarctica & Minnesota
My buddy Dennis told me about http://rayjobs.com/ a couple weeks ago. He's applying for a good-paying 6-motnh job in Antarctica for inventory specialist. I actually qualify very well for it and explored the possibility with my wife. The pro is the pay, and the con is being away for six months. The former could almost make up for the latter -- and be one helluva life experience story -- except that my entire...
Theological Research
I've been doing some overdue research on a few things. And keep in mind I am trained to research topics objectively while putting aside presuppositions to reduce or remove my own personal bias. So instead of fueling some fire to prove or disprove something, it is giving me a lot of food for honest thought, and enabling me to see others' bias independent of viewpoint. First, I've been tracking the history of the...
Maybe I should take it again …
