That was one of the themes of Kung Fu Panda, a (great) movie Mer and I saw tonight.  And just before the show, my daughter shows up with a couple friends, making them the only other ones in the theater.  What are the odds of that???? Other than that, we had a lazy day and saw enough fireworks over the last few days to not bother going out anywhere in particular.

Things could have been much worse.  Mer was walking the dog and as a door on the next building opened, a Dalmatian jumped out, grabbed Lady Bug, our Shih Tzu, by the back and yanked her so hard to break the leash and shook her briefly.  Letting go and being pulled back by their owner, he fell just short of Merry whacking him.  Lady doesn't seem hurt apart from a single puncture, having been protected somewhat by...
