Erie County Fair Party

Merry had to work last night at the last minute, so I took Michelle. She wore a really neat old-fashioned outfit, sort of a dress suitable for business attire. We really had a great time, and I ran into several people at our own table who had common friends / aquaintences. We got to talk a lot, dance for half a song, and she won the last prize of the evening. When the lights came on, we both thought it was...

Poem – Lucifer

{Be warned. If you don't get it, don't freak out on me. I will explain if anyone asks for some ... illumination.} O most burderened of servants Placed to test all in fire Teaching them fear You are the fence for my sheep Your mask, your names Create an opposite reflection of me Hated, despised You have become the opposite of angelic And yet you are still Messenger I know this task you are given Is most costly and...

Christmas Tree

Christina wasn't able to stay long and help decorate the tree. She had a wake for a fellow high school student who died in a car crash. I was too stuffed from dinner (and a whole glass of wine) to really be non-lathargic enough to do mroe than a couple boxes of ornaments myself. But we took a trip to Country Peddler and got cider, marshmallows, taffy, fortune cookies, and some discounted pastry to share. It was a...

It’s beginning to look a lot like …

Snowed a LOT last night. It started on my way home from a lecture at UB by Brian Greene (string theory physicist) and it didn't let up until sometime earlier today. To wet to snow blow, so I shoveled by hand and was too beat (and concerned about travel conditions) to go to the farm. Early yesterday while walking the dog, I said to myself "it's going to snow tonight" ... I've developed a good sense for weather...

SO Good to walk around downtown …

Chrissie and I went to see the PEaceful World exhibit at the Virginia Weiss Gallery at the market Arcade this evening (painings by Ralph Sirianni - www.SirianniArt.com). We grabbed a bite at Melanie's next to Shea's, then walked the Chippewa strip on the way to dropping her off at the HSBC Area for a Sabers hockey game, meeting up with a friend and her dad. (No she's not old enough to go to bars, but it wasn't...

Aaahhh …

What a wonderful Spring day it was earlier today. Warm rain, cool breeze, the smell of ... hey WAIT! It's freakin' November!?!??!

New Obsession

Some of you remember my love for the awesome, albeit quirky and low AI, game called Ascendency. I would play it over a million times if I could, leaving it for many months, then playing a game every day or two for weeks again. BUT, it wont play on WindowsXP. So the other day, or rather a week or so ago, I found Space, a multiplayer Acendancy-type game online. It's REALLY cool. And against human opponents, I may...

Still Relaxed

We had a great anniversary, topping it off with seeing my daughter. She even kissed me goodbye on the cheek like she used to when she was younger. Got a few things done today. Helped Mer make dinner. Talked with Jes (peacevine) on the phone this evening. The farm is tomorrow. Life is good.
