Snapping Turtle

Stopped the car in the middle of Fisher to rescue a slowly crossing turtle. A snapping turtle no doubt. ALl fingers intact, I placed him off the road, all curled up in his (or her) shell. To then be promptly noticed by three kids, one on foot, who I suspect would attempt to abuse it in some way. If he tried, I hope he lost a finger. It really gets to me what he may have done to it after I saved it.

Recital

Recital

Me and Mer went to Chrissy's recital, and by that we mean we went out for Indian food down Elmwood for the first act and Mer slept through the second, with the exception during those three hours of the number Chrissy was in and the finale. May be her last year at Miranda's. On another note, prepped another apartment for painting, and always find one or more amusing things left behind. No commentary on this one -...

Show and Tell

Guess what i got? AIR CONDITIONING for my office. I can actually sit at my desk and not drown in sweat. 90 freaking degrees witha bazillion percent humidity. And it's getting cool in here. i even installed it myself out of both yrgnecy and the need for the additional satisfaction.

My head is lighter now.

At least it feels lighter - a little. And I have to wear a big hat to keep from burining my neck. Photos linked below. Warning - not for the faint of heart if you liked me in long hair ... http://kenville.net/haircut.htm

But this afternoon, I saw Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, I still can't take it all in, but it was dark - very saddening. But it did seem to try to hard to explain some inconsistencies and creat a new one - in particular the manner in...

Albany

I took Susan to Albany for a job interview. We left Monday evening and stayed over in Rensallaer. After grabbing a meter and walking Susan to her interview in "Agency 2" after poor directions from a cleaning lady, I found a place to park at the Pepsi Center, as all the Empire Plaza parking was full, as were surrounding ramps. Took the walkway, then explored the plaza. Empire State Plaza is the most amazing urban...

Usual sort of update … not.

Saw "Team America" - Impressive puppetry and effort was put into it. Man, it was a satire of both the left and right politically, pulling no punches. And I LOVE the soundtrack. For days now, I can't get "America - ..." out of my head. Stirringly patriotic, yet puerile and offensive. Just got back from the Hellenic Festival and was called up by name on stage to dance with people from other tables at the Taverna...
