Poem written off the cuff …

To a friend unknown How many feet have passed my way adjacent prints on short paths a name known the sound of words exchanged but with little echo or sustain? As if a shade conjured reaching to me as a blind man not knowing what he wants a common tugging without tension a burden without weight You are the promise an unknown wish fulfilled a part of creation uncountable yet with an unspoken asssurance I dare that...

BNI, Tai Chi & the never-ending month …

Went to a BNI meeting this morning (7am) for the first time in many months. THere's an opening for a web developer, so I'll be joining. Then I went to Tai Chi class and followed up with the free one in the middle of the mall. I didn't have to run one of my usual Friday errands, so I had the time. However, my phone didn't let me pause much, and so I just did some web work on the upcoming Teen Party event my daughter...

I don’t think I like smoking …

I finally got a pipe to stay lit, and smoked most of it (I think). Not as tasty as it smells when it's not burning. A little bit of a bite afterwards. It was a sampling of the Black Cherry Cavendish I bought my Dad for Father's Day. Chocolate ice cream got most of the taste out. My wife asks me why I insist on trying to smoke, even if it's a rare occassion. I told her it was to be like my Dad. I guess we all want...

Babylon 5 : The New Addiction

The wife and I are goingthrough withdrawl, waiting for the next season disks to appear for B5. Season 1: It's okay. Season 2: Has decent potential. Season 3: (which we only are halfway through) ... Schwang!* Gritty, much more down-to-earth (excuse the expression) than Star Trek, even Deep Space 9. Amazing story arc with complex characters and story lines. THe only reason it's predictable is because it's truly...

Last Few Weeks – A Wedding, a Festival, and Trouble in Ohio

A couple weeks ago, I got to dance with Merry in public for the first time in many years. It was a workmate's wedding -- outdoors at Beaver Hollow. Amazing place. Muppet's theme. We sat at the Dr. Teeth table. I even got to teaqch one of Merry's friends how to slow dance. I also helped Michelle man ("staff"?) the table for Big Brosthers Big Sisters at the "Music is Art Festival", one of the many "protest festivals"...

The Usual LiveJournal Apology

I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while, yadda, yadda ... I've been out of sorts a bit, but things HAVE been going on. I'll update this in increments. Right now, I'm fighting fatigue and lethargy from killer humidity. I have no motivation to do all but sit here and go through the motions of this and that on the computer. I HATE SWEAT! If I am sweating, it better be for a good reason, not just from sitting still...

Babylon 5

I started watching Babylon 5, the first two seasons of which being loaned to me by Dennis & Agnes. It's basically Star Trek sideways with less convincing graphics, (slightly) more variations in species appearance than merely forehead wrinkles, and a plot that will probably grow on me. I'm easy when it comes to sci-fi, and many shows take more than a season to mature.
